Dear Friends and Fatherhood Supporters,

Tis the season, when hundreds of non-profits appeal to the goodwill of benefactors whose generosity will sustain their mission for another year. I think half of them have my email and home address — religious, secular, curing diseases, combating hunger, sheltering pets – all making the pitch that they deserve consideration. All sincere, all worthy, and all committed to do good.

But none of them is trying to address what I believe is the most important social issue we face: the crisis of fatherlessness, where 18 million kids in the U.S. live without a father and where newborns, across most demographics, are increasingly coming back from the hospital to a home without a father. The crisis, which continues to worsen, was eloquently described by Senator Barack Obama in 2008 when he said:

“Children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools, and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.”

Fathers & Families, Inc. www.fathersfamilies.com is dedicated to two simple propositions: Fathers are important and Kids need their dads. That’s why in 2017 we launched billboards, increased our fatherhood video library, expanded our social media presence, spoke, wrote, and developed an in-person event strategy for fathers and their kids.

So as you sort through the solicitations in your mailbox, I humbly invite you to join us in this most critical of missions in support of children, moms, families, our communities and our country. One hundred percent of your tax-free donation will fund our education and communication efforts to build awareness of the importance of fathers, help dads be better dads, and rebuild the institution of fatherhood.

Can you help? Please visit https://fathersfamilies.com/donate/. Consider making a monthly commitment. And please know that not one cent of your donation will be used for salaries, benefits, or any personal expenses.

Thank you for you generous consideration. And best wishes to you and your family for a joyous Christmas/Hanukkah/Holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Bill
